Enjoy the Outdoors | Circle the Changyu City and savor the unique charm of “Changcheng Nostalgia”

Changyucheng is situated at the junction of Beijing’s Changping District and Hebei’s Huailai County, with mountains on its east, west, and south sides. It lies south of Diaowogou, deriving its name from its location in the Changyu Gorge. The fortified pass was constructed during the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty, hence the name “Changyucheng.” Stretching 8 kilometers in length, it is the highest‑elevation section of the Great Wall within Beijing. In addition to its record‑breaking altitude, this stretch boasts the only circular watchtower—locally known as the “Round Tower”—in the Beijing area. During the Ming era, Changyucheng, Zhenbiancheng, and Baiyangcheng were collectively referred to as the Three Northern Frontier Fortresses of Beijing, serving as crucial military strongholds in ancient times.

Event Guidelines:

1. Outdoor activities involve numerous uncontrollable factors, and the geographical conditions, intensity, technical difficulty, and level of risk vary from one activity to another. Please choose which activities to participate in based on your physical fitness, experience, and available gear.

By choosing to participate in this activity, the registrant acknowledges that, after due consideration, they agree to assume all risks associated with outdoor activities, including those arising from the use of transportation and other third-party facilities. With respect to any accidents that may occur during the event, the organizer will provide only basic on-site assistance within its capabilities; upon an incident, it may assist with filing insurance claims, but shall bear no legal, financial, or moral liability. If an accident results from the registrant’s failure to comply with the event rules and the leader’s instructions, and from acting independently, the registrant shall be solely responsible for the consequences and shall also compensate for any losses caused to others.

3. Participants are required to read the above disclaimer, confirm that they are in good health and capable of undertaking this activity, and acknowledge the associated risks. Although the leader and other team members will do their utmost to assist those in need, each participant must understand that, in outdoor settings, the support available from the leader and fellow participants is severely limited.
